The Queen's Concerts
The Queen's Concerts at Buckingham Palace 2002
On the command of HM the Queen, two concerts were staged in the gardens of Buckingham Palace to celebrate her Golden Jubilee. 25,000 people, selected by ballot, were invited to either a classical concert or a rock & pop concert, where they enjoyed a champagne picnic and remarkable performances by some of the world's greatest artists. The first concert, The Prom at the Palace, featured classical artists and the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Andrew Davis. The second concert, The Party at the Palace, featured almost every major British rock and pop artist.
