The Rolling Stones Licks arena stage took advantage of the more intimate atmosphere of an arena setting. The huge rolling stage, which was almost lost beneath the vibrant colour of the Jeff Koons collage, became an elegant, minimalist deck, surmounted by a huge video wall. The stage hid all the technical support that kept the band on stage, showcasing them against a simple backdrop. The video screen was so big that it was almost never used entire. Instead it became a canvas for video pieces by Willie Williams, Lance Bangs and Punk Films, with image magnification of the band discretely overlaid. The moving lights on the face of the screen allowed Patrick Woodroffe to play with the apparent height of the screen, and to change it into a dynamic source of light.
